Product Overview

Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) has been prized by various cultures since biblical times. It was commonly mentioned in Bible stories and other religious text. In Leviticus 2:1-2 we see its use depicted: "And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:2 And he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD:"

In Exodus-30-22_30-29 the LORD himself gives Moses an herbal recipe to make holy anointing oil with! One of the most popular depictions of its use is in the book of Matthew, in the story of the Three Wise Men and Baby Jesus. Matthew 2:10-11 "When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they came inside, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him; and when they had opened their treasures, they presented to him gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.
