Voacanga africana is a plant which is an evergreen shrub. It's native to West Africa and used by historic cultures there for its ethnobotanical potential. It's closely related to the Iboga plant, which was and still is used around the world for drug addiction, and as a ceremonial psychedeilc. Many people who can't legally use Iboga are interested in Voacanga as an alternative. The seeds have been utilized very carefully, as both a poison (for hunting, etc), a stimulant, and even an aphrodisiac, as well as a memory aid.
